This blog is dedicated to my mother Christina Elizabeth Fraser.  The search for her families roots has been more about the journey than the destination. Through the years I have met many Frasers who have help me make a lot of progress in finding my elusive relatives.

Mapping out my Fraser genealogical tree has been a daunting task considering the number of different Fraser’s Familys there are.  With the help of immediate family I have been able to trace our roots solidly back to the early 1800’s and tentatively before this.

When I first took on this task, the scope was limited to immediate family.  It wasn’t until a trip to Nova Scotia that I realized how important it was to document our history.  After all, as the older generation fades, so does the vast knowledge and stories they possess.  I am in the process of not only working on my family tree, but also I am documenting my mother Christina Elizabeth Fraser’s life and all her wonderful stories which I will include on this site.

As of this writing I believe I have compiled one of the most comprehensive trees for our family.  It currently contains 3000 individuals and seven generations.  Although it is comprehensive, it is by no means complete.  My "Fraser Family Tree" includes the Mackinnons & MacLellans as well who are an integrated part of my family.

I would like to take this work to the next level by tracking down as many of our Fraser blood line as possible.  I would like names, birth dates or deceased dates (if applicable), relationships (where they fit in the family tree) and location (where they live).  Additional information is greatly appreciated.

DO YOU BELONG TO MY FRASER FAMILY?

According to family history,  John Fraser came to Pictou, Nova Scotia in approx 1773 aboard the Lucy Hector with his two brothers Duncan & Alexander, along with Alexander’s future bride Alice MacGregor and her parents. They were bound for Virginia, but decided to get off the boat in Halifax instead.   Of the three brothers Alexander and Duncan stayed in the Halifax/Pictou area and John left the area and travelled to Cape Breton Island with his wife Margaret Mackinnon.

My relative would be John Fraser and Margaret Mackinnon I can find no evidence of their existence with the exception of family history.  Below is a brief outline of my family.
